The story behind the flowers

Hello, I’m Ash!

What started as a hobby to get outside and be active during lock down fast became an addiction.

Based in the Hinterland region of Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley, NSW, I started my floral design journey back in 2020 when I decided to have a go at building a garden on our un-landscaped rural property. It wasn’t long before I realised it was something I had a major passion for and I spent the next 3 years designing, building and growing, often gifting my flowers to friends and family.

Towards the end of 2023 I knew this was a path I had to follow and I enrolled as a student at The School of Floral Design, Newcastle.

My floral passions lay predominately with native Australian flowers and their South African relations, with their rich colours, long lasting nature and versatility to look beautiful both fresh and dried.

I pride myself on growing as much of my floral stock as possible, ensuring I oversee the growth from seeds sprouting to maturing and then my favourite part - the flowering! The growing process for me is just as important as the final product - I can tell you the back story from conception to creation on all my flowers.
